Regular Season Round 18: TTT Riga - TTT Juniores 121-35

One of the most interesting games of round 18 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. Top-rankedTTT Riga outleveled visiting TTT Juniores (0-9) 121-35 . TTT Riga held TTT Juniores to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 58.2 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. TTT Riga forced 34 TTT Juniores turnovers and outrebounded them 46-23 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. TTT Riga players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by TTT Juniores ' players. Lithuanian forward Gabija Meskonyte (181-1998) notched 33 points (!!!) and 6 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and center Evelina Otto (187-2006) supported her with 16 points and 9 rebounds. TTT Riga's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 8 points and 6 rebounds by swingman Darta Malniece (176-2006) did not help to save the game for TTT Juniores . Latvian guard Elina Briede (174-2005) added 8 points. TTT Riga (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row behind leader LCC Klaipeda. TTT Juniores at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost.
