Regular Season Round 14: UDW Alligators - United 63-61

Fifth-rankedUnited (8-6) was very close to win a game against first ranked Alligators (13-1) in Deutsch-Wagram on Saturday. Alligators managed to secure only two-point victory 63-61 . However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of United. United was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-11 charge of UDW Alligators, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 United turnovers. Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-1984, college: Chaminade) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Slovakian forward Matej Drgon (206-1998, college: NWOSU) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Noah Oguamalam (200-2003) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Marius Witzmann (190-2000) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for United. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. UDW Alligators have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record, which they share with Mustangs. United at the other side dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Blackbirds and Towers.
