Regular Season Round 19: TTT Riga - Kibirkstis-MRU 79-72

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Lithuanian Kibirkstis-MRU (8-4) was defeated on the road by leader Latvian TTT Riga (10-0) 79-72 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Gabija Meskonyte (181-1998) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Kyra Lambert (175-1996, college: Texas) helped adding 16 points and 6 assists. Four TTT Riga players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-2000) responded with 17 points and 8 assists and forward Egle Zabotkaite (180-2000) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. TTT Riga have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-0 record behind leader LCC Klaipeda. Defending Lithuanian champion Kibirkstis-MRU keeps the fifth position with four games lost. TTT Riga will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kibirkstis-MRU will play against Daugavpils (#10) and hope to secure a win.
