Regular Season Round 18: Milonas - Koroivos 80-79

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Elite League took place in Athens. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th rankedKoroivos (10-8) to third ranked Milonas (11-7) 80-79 on Saturday evening. Milonas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Koroivos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international center Gaios Skordilis (207-1987, agency: Diamond Sports) who saved his team from a defeat with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-1991) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Milonas players scored in double figures. American guard Dru Kuxhausen (183-1998, college: N.Colorado) replied with 26 points and his fellow American import guard Ty-Shon Alexander (193-1998, college: Creighton) added 11 points and 12 assists in the effort for Koroivos. Koroivos' coach Spyros Samolis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Milonas maintains third position with 11-7 record having just three points less than leader Panionios, which they share with Ermis S. and Megaridas. Koroivos at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Mykonou.
