Very expected game when 11th rankedHerford (6-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Schwelm (13-4) 89-73 on Saturday. Naturalized American Chris Frazier (182-1990, college: Dubuque) scored 17 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian forward Khalil Miller (203-1996) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Schwelm players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Collin Turner (185-1995, college: Angelo St.) with 26 points and 6 assists and naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-1993, college: Temple JC) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Schwelm have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Herford keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Iserlohn. Schwelm will meet Bernau (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herford will play against Berlin BG 2000 and hope to secure a win.
