Second Stage Round 1: Challans - Pont-de-Cheruy 73-68

There was a small surprise when Vendee Challans won against at home SOPCC 73-68 on Friday. Point guard Jeremy Bichard (186-1990) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and guard Paul Turpin (192-1993) chipped in 17 points. At the losing side Gabonese center Brice Eyaga (205-1998) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tom Dary-Sagnes (194-2001) scored 18 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Vendee Challans will meet Mulhouse on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SOPCC will play against Rennes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
