Regular Season Round 23: Rhoendorf - Leitershofen 87-78

There was no surprise when 10th rankedKangaroos (11-12) were defeated on the road by first ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (18-5) 87-78 on Sunday. Rhoendorf made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Leitershofen turnovers. Strangely Leitershofen outrebounded Rhoendorf 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Kelvin Omojola (183-1997, college: Northwest) who scored 12 points and 5 assists. Naturalized American point guard Tyreese Blunt (191-2002) chipped in 17 points. Five Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. American Jermane Carter (198-1999, college: Midwestern St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jannik Westermeir (190-2002) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rhoendorf maintains first place with 18-5 record, which they share with Koeln. Loser Kangaroos keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Fellbach.
