Seventh rankedLenovo Tenerife (16-10) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Gran Canaria (16-10) 93-92 in the fight for the fourth place. Tenerife made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Gran Canaria was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-1983) supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by American-North Macedonian power forward Ethan Happ (208-1996, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria . American-Lithuanian John Shurna (204-1990, college: Northwestern) added 20 points for the guests. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tenerife moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Gran Canaria .
