Very important is a road loss of third rankedMersin (23-8) against fourth ranked Gaziantep (21-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Mersin was defeated by Gaziantep in a tough game in Gaziantep 82-86 . It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Mersin. Gaziantep dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin 's 32. Gaziantep players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Maurice Watson (178-1993, college: Creighton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Guard Koray Cekici (186-2002) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Gaziantep's coach Engin Komec allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American Gerel Simmons (189-1993, college: LMU, agency: Diamond Sports) came up with 24 points and 6 assists and Berkay Sinirlioglu (192-1994) added 15 points (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for Mersin in the defeat. Four Mersin players scored in double figures. Gaziantep have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 21-10 record. Mersin at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost.
