Regular Season Round 1: PeKa - Pyrinto 75-60
Date: October 2, 2024
Peli-Karhut defeated Tampereen Pyrinto in Kotka 75-60 . PeKa forced 20 Pyrinto turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. PeKa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pyrinto 's players. The former international forward Roosa Kosonen (183-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American power forward Jade Williams (196-1998, college: Duke, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Kayla Shaw (178-1997, college: Azusa Pacific) responded with 16 points and power forward Saana Kujala (184-2002) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
