Regular Season Round 2: Roseto Acad. - Stiinta 67-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of ItalianRoseto (3-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Romanian Stiinta (4-0) 73-67 . The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Stiinta dominated on the defensive end, holding Roseto to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Roseto 's 16. They outrebounded Roseto 50-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard David Matesescu (186-2006) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Forward Alexandru Tache (189-2006) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Omar Al Alosy answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Hungarian guard Kadosa Puskas (185-2008) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Roseto. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
