Regular Season Round 2: Stiinta - Lanciano 81-52

Very expected game when ItalianLanciano (0-4) was smashed by Romanian Stiinta (4-0) in Bucuresti 81-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Stiinta. Lanciano managed to win fourth quarter 15-9 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stiinta dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lanciano 's 26. Stiinta forced 30 Lanciano turnovers and outrebounded them 35-22 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Stiinta looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard David Matesescu (186-2006) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 7 assists. Forward Stefan Raicu (198-2006) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Giulio Del Prete came up with 15 points and Federico Giampaolo added 11 points respectively for Lanciano in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
