Regular Season Round 2: London UTD - Stiinta 62-85

No shocking result in a game when RomanianStiinta (4-0) crushed on the road British London UTD (1-3) 85-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Stiinta. London UTD managed to win second period 17-14 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stiinta dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to London UTD 's 28. Stiinta forced 27 London UTD turnovers and had a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Stiinta looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard David Matesescu (186-2006) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward David Banica (195-2005) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. M Osuji came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) and A Sempala added 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for London UTD in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
