There was a small surprise when Finnish Peli-Karhut edged on the road Belgian Castors Braine 65-64 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was American guard Lauren Heard (175-1999, college: TCU) who scored 20 points and 5 assists. Forward Roosa Kosonen (183-2000) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Juliunn Redmond (180, college: Illinois St.) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovakian Veronika Remenarova (188-1997) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Peli-Karhut will meet at home Keltern in the next round. Castors Braine will play against Constanta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
