The game had a very big importance for second-rankedTorpan Pojat as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Torpan Pojat smashed 3rd ranked Tapiolan Honka in Helsinki 93-69 . ToPo made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. ToPo outrebounded Honka 47-24 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. ToPo looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-1991, college: Syracuse) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat's coach Arttu Tammi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Cierra Walker (173-1998, college: Gonzaga) replied with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import guard Grace Stone (180, college: Princeton) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Honka. Torpan Pojat (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Honka at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Kouvot.
