Karlis Aumeisters claims EYBL U17 weekly honour

Talented Karlis Aumeisters (200-SF-2008) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Bertanu Valmieras Basketbola skola and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 16-year old had the game-high 16 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for BVBS in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Hyundai (#28, 0-4) with 26-point margin 72-46. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Bertanu moved-up to the 23th position in EYBL U17. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Bertanu will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Aumeisters had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Karlis Aumeisters averages this season 11.0ppg and 8.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young swingman Oliver Kruus (195-F/G-2007) of Keila Basket U17 team. Kruus impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Keila to another comfortable win outscoring Hyundai (#28, 0-4) 74-53. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Keila dropped in the standings to 21th position. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Kruus is a newcomer at Keila and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.8ppg (#2). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Paulius Bakans of SKM Lions Vilnius U17 team (#22). Bakans scored 19 points. He was a key player of SKM Lions, leading his team to a 52-44 win against slightly lower-ranked Ekselences (#24, 2-2). SKM Lions started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Bakans turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Bakans has a very solid season. In 4 games in EYBL U17 he scored 9.0ppg.
