Sabeckas' 37-point game gives him Player of the Week award

15-year old guard Kristupas Sabeckas (180-G-2009) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Zalgiris Kaunas U16 team and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had the game-high 37 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Zalgiris in his team's victory, helping them to beat Minyor (#34, 1-3) in overtime 88-78. It allowed Zalgiris to take over top position in the EYBL U16. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Zalgiris has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Sabeckas had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Zalgiris' top player in his first season with the team. Sabeckas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 24.8ppg) and averages solid 3.3spg and 66.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Radek Chaloupka of USK Praha U17 team. He is a in his first season at USK Praha. In the last game Chaloupka recorded an impressive 39 points and 3 rebounds. It was enough for USK Praha to edge the higher-ranked Vechta (#2, 2-2) in overtime by 5 points 76-71. This victory allowed USK Praha to move up to 9th position in the standings. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Chaloupka is a newcomer at USK Praha and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.3ppg (#5). He also registered 5.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Gergely Papp of Budapest Honved U16 team (#24). Papp got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He was a key player of Honved, leading his team to a 83-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Minyor (#34, 1-3). Honved needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Papp has a great season in EYBL U16. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (8th best).
