Toms Ansons claims EYBL U17 weekly honour

Toms Ansons had a very impressive game in the last round for Marupes SC 2007 U17 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The had a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Mens Sana (#84, 0-5) with 38-point margin 97-59. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Marupes is placed at 36th position in EYBL U17. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Marupes will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Ansons as usually he does not deliver so high stats.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Giorgi Tsagareishvili (195-F -2007) of Sokhumi Georgia. Tsagareishvili impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Sokhumi lost that game 75-100 to the higher-ranked Krakow (#20, 4-1). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Sokhumi dropped in the standings to 75th position. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Sokhumi managed to get this year. Tsagareishvili is one of the most experienced players at Sokhumi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Marupes' star - Markuss Tebelis (199-F-2008). Tebelis scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Marupes SC Riga, helping his team with a 97-59 easy win against Mens Sana (#84, 0-5). Tebelis has a very solid season. In 5 games in EYBL U17 he scored 19.6ppg.

7. Luca Otgon (191-F/G-2008) of Andu Sibiu - 27 points and 7 rebounds
8. Mate Kavlashvili (186-G -2008) of Zaza Pachulia - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Ksawery Mrowczynski) of Krakow - 14 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Lapo Calviani) of Mens Sana - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
