Kevin Martinez claims EYBL U16 weekly honour

Talented Kevin Martinez (2009) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Lucentum Alicante U16 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 15-year old had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Liepaja (#64, 2-6) with 16-point margin 73-57. Thanks to this victory Alicante moved-up to the 1st position in EYBL U16. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Alicante already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Martinez turned to be Alicante's top player in his first season with the team. Kevin Martinez averages this season 17.0ppg and 12.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Hugo Tirs (2009) of Tamsalu Los Toros/TALTECH. Tirs impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Tamsalu lost that game 87-97 to the higher-ranked V.Knasiaus (#3, 3-1). Tamsalu managed to keep the same 58th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Tamsalu managed to get this year. Tirs is a newcomer at Tamsalu and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.6ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 4.4apg.

The third best performed player last round was Alexis Genbrugge of BBC Falco Gent (#5). Genbrugge scored 29 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Genbrugge's great performance the Falco Gent lost 93-101 to slightly higher-ranked V.Knasiaus (#3, 3-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Falco Gent needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Genbrugge has a very solid season. In 4 games in EYBL U16 he scored 19.0ppg.
