Seventh-ranked BS Riga (6-2) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Marupes (11-1) on Sunday. Marupes managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BS Riga. Marupes trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 22-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Marupes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BS Riga's 34. They outrebounded BS Riga 37-20 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Jekabs Niedra (184-2006) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Forward Toms Ailis (197-2006) contributed with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Renars Jasans (192-2007) answered with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for BS Riga. Marupes have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Despite that victory Marupes went down to twelfth position due to points difference. BS Riga at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with two games lost. Inter led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Northfleet to just 5 points in fourth quarter.
