Roberts Macs claims EYBL U20 weekly honour

Talented Roberts Macs (211-C-2006) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader RBS Rigas Juniori and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 19-year old center had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Norrkoping (#54, 0-8), the league's bottom-ranked team 78-72. Thanks to this victory Rigas Juniori moved-up to the 1st position in EYBL U20. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Rigas Juniori already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Macs turned to be Rigas Juniori' top player in his first season with the team. Roberts Macs averages this season 15.8ppg and 10.5rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Alexander Osayi-Edwins (2007) of Venom Basketball Vantaa U20 team. Osayi-Edwins impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Venom to edge Norrkoping (#54, 0-8) by 2 points 57-55. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Venom dropped in the standings to 49th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Osayi-Edwins is a newcomer at Venom and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#8). He also registered 14.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Toms Gusarovs (174-PG-2007) of RBS Rigas Juniori (#48). Gusarovs scored 24 points and passed 6 assists. He was a key player of Rigas Juniori, leading his team to a 101-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Drive Ac. 2 (#51, 3-5). Rigas Juniori started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Gusarovs turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Gusarovs has a very solid season. In 3 games in EYBL U20 he scored 20.7ppg.
