Mazurs' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

17-year old guard Nikolass Mazurs (170-G-2008) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Bauskas BJSS/SC Memele and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat Drive Ac. 2 (#51, 3-5) 84-73. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Bauska moved-up to the 47th position in EYBL U20. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Bauska already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Mazurs turned to be Bauska's top player in his first season with the team. Nikolass Mazurs averages this season 15.5ppg and 12.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Alexander Osayi-Edwins (2007) of Venom Basketball Vantaa U20 team. He is a in his first season at Venom. In the last game Osayi-Edwins recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Venom lost that game 57-88 to league's leader Jugla (#47, 4-0). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Venom dropped in the standings to 49th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Osayi-Edwins is a newcomer at Venom and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#8). He also registered 14.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Roberts Macs (211-C-2006) of league's leader RBS Rigas Juniori. Macs scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Rigas Juniori, leading his team to a 85-74 win against the lower-ranked Venom (#49, 4-4). Rigas Juniori started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Macs turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Macs has a very solid season. In 4 games in EYBL U20 he scored 15.8ppg.
