Lips' double-double lands him Player of the Week award

29-year old Karl-Johan Lips (205-SF-1996) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Tartu Ulikool Maks & Moorits and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Rigas Z. (#5, 15-6) 83-80. It allowed Tartu to consolidate first place in the LAT-EST BL. Tartu has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 20-2. In the team's last game Lips had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Tartu and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Lips has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 60.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kristaps Dargais (198-PF-1990) of BK Ogre. He is Latvian forward in his 4th season at BK Ogre. In the last game Dargais recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for BK Ogre to edge the lower-ranked Liepaja (#12, 4-18) by 3 points 83-80. BK Ogre's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-12 record. Dargais is one of the most experienced players at BK Ogre and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Kristaps Kilps (195-SF-2001) of league's second-best VEF Riga. Kilps got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. He was a key player of VEF Riga, leading his team to a 87-78 win against the lower-ranked Ventspils (#7, 15-7). VEF Riga is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 18-4 record is not that bad... Kilps has a very solid season. In 22 games in LAT-EST BL he scored 15.1ppg.
