Power forward Karl Jurtsenko (203-PF-2004) had a very impressive game in the last round for Tartu Ulikool Maks & Moorits, receiving a Hoops Agents 1 Liiga Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Tamsalu (#9, 7-13) 90-82. Tartu maintains the 3rd position in Estonian 1 Liiga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tartu will need more victories to improve their 14-6 record. In the team's last game Jurtsenko had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tartu's top player in his first season with the team. Karl Jurtsenko averages this season 19.8ppg and 10.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international shooting guard Rain Veideman (192-SG-1991) of Haljala NGU. Veideman had a very good evening with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Haljala to edge the lower-ranked Reinar Halliku (#8, 9-11) 92-90. Haljala's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Veideman is a newcomer at Haljala, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Haljala's star - American guard Taevon Lewis (198-G-2003). Lewis scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was another key player of Haljala NGU, helping his team with a 92-90 win against the lower-ranked Reinar Halliku (#8, 9-11). Haljala needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 7 lost games. Lewis has a great season in Estonia. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (3rd best). Lewis attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
