Traditionally at the end of the year Eurobasket announces Year End Awards, this
time for 2005.
Eurobasket has a network of over 230 correspondents, where major part of them
took part in the voting for this year awards.
There are two major categories: All-Europe and All-Europeans, while All-Europe
applies to all players (also imports) who played in Europe, while all-Europeans
applies to only European players, who players around the World.
We also have Coach of the Year Award. There were easy guesses for All-Europeans
and Coach of the Year awards as
Dirk
Nowitzki of Dallas Mavericks (NBA) and
Panagiotis
Yiannakis of Maroussi (GRE) were definite leaders in their categories.
However All-Europe awards were not such obvious.
Sarunas
Jasikevicius of Indiana Pacers (NBA) took All-Europe Player of the Year
award being followed very closely by
Anthony
Parker of Maccabi Elite Tel-Aviv (ISR) and
Luis
Scola of Tau Ceramica Vitoria (ESP) .
