French ELITE 2 round 7 best performance: Keaston Willis

American Guard Keaston Willis (190-G-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Union Poitiers Basket 86, receiving a Hoops Agents ELITE 2 Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, five rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out La Rochelle (#20, 1-6) 89-85. Poitiers maintains the 2nd position in French ELITE 2. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Poitiers will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Willis turned to be Poitiers' top player in his first season with the team. Former The University of Tulsa star has very solid stats this year. Willis is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.2ppg) and averages impressive 54.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Mathis Keita (192-PG-1992) of FOS Provence Basket. Keita had a very good evening with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Provence Basket cruised to a 74-63 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked SCABB (#16, 3-4). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Fos-sur-Mer managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 18th place. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Provence Basket managed to get this year. Keita is a newcomer at Fos-sur-Mer, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina guard John Roberson (180-PG-1988) of Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket (#9). Roberson got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eleven assists. He was a key player of Hyeres-Toulon, leading his team to a 105-90 easy win against the lower-ranked Rouen (#19, 2-5). Hyeres-Toulon needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Roberson has a great season in France. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (7th best).
