Charnay lands Shakayla Thomas

Charnay Basket Bourgogne SUD (LF2) tabbed 27-year old American 180cm forward Shakayla Thomas (college: FSU) for new season. Thomas has played for the last two years at Cote d'Opale Basket Calais. In 21 LF2 games in France she was the best scorer with impressive 20.0ppg and recorded 7.2rpg, 1.5apg and 3.7spg (leader !!!) last season. She can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-French LF2 Defensive Player of the Year, League Player of the Week and voted to Eurobasket.com All-French LF2 Third Team.
In 2018 she was drafted by Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in second round (23rd overall).
Thomas graduated from Florida State University and it is her sixth season in pro basketball.
She represented USA at the World Championships U19 in Chekhov (Russia) eight years ago. Thomas' team won Gold and her stats at that event were 4 games: 11.3ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.5spg, FGP: 46.3%, FT: 50.0%.
Thomas has played previously for French team Toulouse.
Among many awards her team made it to the ACC Tournament Semifinals in 2018. She received All-ACC Sixth Player of the Year award back in 2015.
