ProB Round 10 (Regular Season): Leader Stade Rochelais get another victory

Leader La Rochelle delivered the ninth win on Friday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Denain Voltaire (5-5) 82-66. Stade Rochelais made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard Tray Buchanan (187-1998, college: Emporia St.) fired 45 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Mali Ibrahima Haidara (204-1992) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Chris Lykes (169-1998, college: Arkansas, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 13 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Rochelle (9-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Stade Rochelais maintains first position. Denain-Voltaire lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Nantes and St.Chamond. Stade Rochelais are looking forward to face Fos-sur-Mer (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Denain-Voltaire will play against Evreux (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
The game in Saint Chamond was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Boulazac Basket (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Saint Chamond (5-5). Boulazac Basket defeated Saint Chamond 99-87. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Angelo Warner (188-1992, college: Morehead St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Vincent Amsellem contributed with 11 points and 8 assists for the winners. Boulazac Basket's coach Alexandre Menard allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Theo Magrit (189-2001) replied with 13 points and 9 assists for St.Chamond. Boulazac Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-3 record, which they share with Rouen. St.Chamond at the other side keeps the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Nantes and Denain-Voltaire. Boulazac will play against Chalons-Reims (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. St.Chamond will play against Antibes (#17) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Vichy. Local JA Vichy (8-2) beat 11th ranked ALM Evreux (4-6) 100-82 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ALM Evreux. Ilias Kamardine scored 19 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Yasiin Joseph responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vichy Clermont moved-up to second place, which they share with Orleans. Loser ALM Evreux keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with Poitiers. Vichy Clermont will meet league's second-placed Orleans on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Evreux will play against Denain-Voltaire (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Antibes was defeated by Aix-Maurienne in Aix-les-Bains 75-69. Nantes beat Chalons-Reims at home 90-73. Lille lost to EB Orthez on the opponent's court 65-82. Fos-sur-Mer unfortunately lost to Orleans in a home game 74-81. Angers recorded a loss to Rouen on the road 88-103. Poitiers defeated ASA on its own court 86-81.

Aix-Maurienne - Antibes 75-69

Everything could happen in Aix-les-Bains at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Aix-Maurienne and 17th ranked Olympique Antibes had identical 2-7 record. American-Nigerian guard Michael Oguine (188-1996, college: Montana) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Surinamese forward Gavin Kensmil (201-1998, college: SF Austin) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest.
