Amyntas survive Holargos scare to clinch Elite League promotion-May 31, 2026
Amyntas completed their return to the Elite League on Friday, beating Holargos 76-54 at home in a decisive Game 7 to win the National League 1 Group 1 playoff series 4-3.
The Ymittos side had appeared to be cruising, opening a commanding 3-0 series lead but Holargos roared back with three straight wins to level at 3-3 and force a winner-take-all seventh game. In the decider, the hosts found the answers they needed, controlling the contest from start to finish and pulling away decisively.
Amyntas led 26-18 after the first quarter and 44-31 at halftime, extending the margin to 57-43 through three before a dominant fourth quarter sealed the 22-point victory and the promotion their season had been building toward.
With the result, Amyntas become the third team to earn promotion to the Elite League through the National League 1 playoffs, joining Kronos Agiou Dimitriou and GAS Komotini.
