Greek Cup 2005
Zelimir Obradovic won his 17th title, and
Panathinaikos Athens his 8th cup!
In an amazing game Panathinaikos Athens overcome Aris Thessaloniki and
the passion of De Juan Collins (188 - G - 76, college: Tuskegee) and Terrell
Castle (182 - G - 72, agency: Court Side, college: Nicholls St.) and won the
cup, after turning "lost" game and coming back from 17 points difference
on the first 15 minutes 18 - 35, with a 19 - 0 of Aris Thessaloniki. The
problem though for Aris Thessaloniki was the lack in rebounds and the
many fouls against, the last five minutes four players fouled out.
Top scorer and MVP of the game was Jaka Lakovic (182 - G - 78) who scored 15
points (out of which the deadly three pointer towards the end and 5 out
of 6 free throws when the ball was really "heavy" at the very last
seconds) in 23 minutes grabbed 3 rebounds 1 steal and 1 assist.
The game was a real derby and took place in Lido a very small court in
Iraklio of Crete.
The quarters were: 18 - 24, 29 - 38, 43 - 44, 72 - 68
Top scorers in Aris Thessaloniki: Collins 21, Castle 11
Top scorers in Panathinaikos Athens: Tsartsaris 14 points 10 rebounds,
Batiste 12 points in 12 minutes.
