The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maree (9-3) in Galway on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by eighth ranked Titans (7-5) 66-65. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Maree. Titans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Portlaoise and Killarney L. Maree at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Dublin L.. Titans is looking forward to face Killarney L. (#8) at home in the next round. Maree will have a break next round.
Very significant was Limerick SE's (#5) 17-point road victory against 4th placed Portlaoise 83-66. Limerick SE (8-4) moved-up to fourth place. Portlaoise lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Killarney L. and Titans. Limerick SE will play against Tipp Talons (#9) in Thurles in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Portlaoise will have a break next round.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Dublin: Lions (#3) and Rovers (#8). Rovers were defeated at home 70-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Dublin L. (9-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Lions (9-3) used an opportunity after Maree lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Rovers dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with Tipp Talons. Dublin L. will meet at home bottom-ranked NorthWest (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tolka Rovers will play against Ulster Univ. (#5) in Belfast and hope to secure a win.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 13: Carrick destroyed NorthWest on the opponent's court 85-61. Templeogue managed to outperform Drogheda in a home game 92-88. Killarney L. managed to beat Cuilinn on the road 76-64. Malahide was defeated by Ulster Univ. on its own court 93-94.
