Trailing 8 points at the halftime, the winners were awesome in the second half and grabbed the Gold of the country. Gilboa started better and won the opening quarters 6:2. Maccabi took the lead back and the teams finished the first frame at 21:20. The second quarter opened rapidly with points on both sides. Maccabi enjoyed 28:24 lead, while Gilboa reduced to 33:32 later in the quarter. Maccabi pushed the tempo again and grabbed 8-point lead at the halftime. Perkins nailed last points at the quarter for 50:42 lead. Galil Gilboa however was far to give up as they started the third period with 5-0 run. Later Galil grabbed the advantage and had 56:53 deficit. The teams went to the lockers for 63:59 and left the intrigue for the last period. Jeremy Pargo (188-G-86, agency: Priority Sports, college: Gonzaga) led his side to 70:64, while Maccabi still tried to return into the game. Brian Randle (203-F-85) made it however 77:67 and the game looked to be over at that time. Perkins managed to cut it to 78:71, while Maccabi reduced to 78:74 with a minute and a half to play. Galil Gilboa meanwhile held off the opponents to triumph in the country. Brian Randle top-scored for the winners with 19 points, while Jeremy Pargo and Dion Dowell (198-G-85, college: Houston) had 15 each. Prini responded with 18 points in the losing effort and Perkins had 14 points and 7 assists. Maccabi Tel-Aviv are the Cup Holders! - Feb 19, 2010 Cup Final Bnei Hasharon-Maccabi Tel-Aviv 70:77 Maccabi Tel-Aviv triumphed in the Cup Final celebrating the victory over Bnei Hasharon last night. The Euroleague representative lifted the Cup up with 77:70 win. Sam Clancy (201-F-80, college: USC) opened the scoring account for for Bnei Hasharon, however Maccabi grabbed10-2 lead after the run in the opening tip. The teams exchanged the baskets in the opening quarter or 20:10 after the first 10 minutes. A layup by David Bluthenthal put Maccabi up by 30:22 but Bnei Hasharon reduced to 35:31. Both squads went to the lockers for 38:33 Maccabi advantage. Lasme and Pnini brought 43:37, while Maccabi grabbed 51:47 midway through the third period. David Bluthenthal dazzled with another of his long range missiles from well behind the top of the arc as Maccabi led 63:56 at the end of thirty minutes. Bnei Hasharon was too far to give up and Sam Clancy got his team within three 65:62. Moreover Ron Steele delivered for 69:68 in the center of the last stanza. Lasme increased the led for Maccabi a 75:70, while Sharp made the final score. David Bluthenthal (202-F-80, college: USC) paced all the winners with 14 point to triumph in the country. Alan Anderson (198-G/F-82, college: Michigan St.) netted 12, while Andrew Wisniewski (191-G-81, college: Centenary) posed 11. Guy Pnini (201-G/F-83, agency: Arik Krayn Services) scored 10, Stephane Lasme added 9 and Derrick Sharp (183-G-71, college: S.Florida) as well as D'or Fisher had 8 apiece. Shawn James (208-F/C-83, agency: ZAG Advocates, college: Northeastern) responded with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
