On 2 November 1921, at the Colombo Brewery (ex Spatenbrau) in Milan, the FIB: Federazione Italiana Basket-Ball was born. 10 clubs were present and Arrigo Muggiani (manager of FC Internazionale di Milano ) was elected president .
The newly born FIB organized a championship as early as 1922 (participated by 8 companies all from Lombardy), but until 1925 the basketball championship was also awarded in parallel by the FGNI , always won by the GS of the Rome Finance Police.
