Pallacaestro Varese Academy claim NextGen Cup title - May 14, 2022 Treviso - Varese 84-112 Pallacanestro Varese Academy clinched 2022 NextGen Cup title. They overcame Treviso in the championship game to lift the trophy. The game without a history. Varese led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Treviso's 56. Varese looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Chinese guard Wei Zhao (181-2005) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Alessio Mazzotti (198-2003) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Leonardo Faggian (195-2004, agency: SLN) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Enrico Vettori (192-2004) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Treviso.
