VEF Riga sign Rostyslav Novitskyi

Defending champion VEF Riga (LBL) landed 24-year old Ukrainian international 204cm power forward Rostyslav Novitskyi (college: Fordham) for new season. He joins another Ukrainian player Illya Sydorov who is already in the roster. He has played for the last two years at Valmiera Glass in the LBL. He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 30 Lat-Est BL games he averaged 12.6ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.8bpg. He also played 10 games in European North Basketball League where he recorded 13.5ppg, 4.7rpg (#2 in the league), 1.2apg and 1.4bpg. And finally he contributed to 11 games in LBL where he got 13.9ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2bpg. Novitskyi helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Latvian LBL Center of the Year, voted to Eurobasket
He graduated from Fordham University in 2023 and it's his third season in pro basketball. Novitskyi also played for Seward County Community College for one year.
