Round 1: Rahoveci lose to Tirana

The Regular Season in Liga Unike just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kosovan Rahoveci on the court of Albanian Tirana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Tirana 79-74. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-88) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Eldi Hysa (195-99, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. American forward Milik Yarbrough (198-95, college: Illinois St.) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Tirana is looking forward to face Prizreni-16 at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rahoveci will play against Teuta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between Albanian Kamza and Kosovan Prizreni-16 where Kamza beat Prizreni-16 on the road 96-91. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matthew Eldridge (203-96, college: Lindsey Wilson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Abrian Edwards contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Montenegrin point guard Ivan Koljevic (188-84, agency: BIG) answered with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for Prizreni-16. Kamza will play against Vllaznia in Shkodra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Prizreni-16 will play on the road against Tirana to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game was played in Shkodra where Kosovan Ylli beat host Albanian Vllaznia 79-67 on Sunday evening. Barret Benson stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Johnathan Stove responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Vllaznia's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ylli will meet at home Peja in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vllaznia will play against Kamza in Tirana and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 1 Teuta lost to Peja in a road game 73-82.
The best stats of 1st round was 16 points and 8 rebounds by Cameron Satterwhite of Teuta.

Another exciting game was between Albanian Kamza and Kosovan Prizreni-16 where Kamza beat Prizreni-16 on the road 96-91. Kamza players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matthew Eldridge (203-96, college: Lindsey Wilson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Abrian Edwards (196-95, college: William Penn, agency: One Motive Sports) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Eldridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Kamza players scored in double figures. Montenegrin point guard Ivan Koljevic (188-84, agency: BIG) answered with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and American swingman Courtney Fells (199-86, college: NC State) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Prizreni-16. Kamza will play against Vllaznia in Shkodra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Prizreni-16 will play on the road against Tirana to get more than just one victory in their record.

At the losing side American guard Johnathan Stove (193-95, college: La-Lafayette) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Bryce Cashman (211-96, college: NWOSU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Vllaznia's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ylli will meet at home Peja in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vllaznia will play against Kamza in Tirana and hope to win that game.

Peja used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Durres 82-73 on Sunday night. Peja forced 23 Teuta turnovers and outrebounded them 50-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Croatian forward Henrik Sirko (199-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and swingman Arian Callakaj (195-92) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American guard Mitch Pelissier (190-97, college: Concordia, IL) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Cameron Satterwhite (193, college: Montana) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Teuta players scored in double figures. Teuta's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Peja will meet Ylli in the next round. Teuta will play against Rahoveci and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
