Round 3 of Regular Season- November 9, 2021
There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of Liga Unike and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Prizreni-16 - Rahoveci 95-89 One of the most interesting games of round 3 was a derby match between two teams from Kosovo. Prizreni-16 won against visiting Rahoveci (0-3) 95-89. Prizreni-16 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Courtney Fells (199-86, college: NC State) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Montenegrin point guard Ivan Koljevic (188-84, agency: BIG) accounted for 27 points and 9 assists for the winning side. American forward Milik Yarbrough (198-95, college: Illinois St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Altin Morina (192-92) added 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for Rahoveci in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prizreni-16 will meet at home Vllaznia (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rahoveci will play against Ylli and hopes to get finally their first victory. Vllaznia made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Johnathan Stove (193-95, college: La-Lafayette) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). His fellow American import guard Matthew Butler (188-95, college: UT Martin) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Stove is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vllaznia players scored in double figures. Julian Hamati came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-88) added 21 points respectively for Tirana in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vllaznia will meet Prizreni-16 (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tirana will play against Peja and hope to win that game. Peja dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kamza's 42. They outrebounded Kamza 50-39 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Peja looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Kamza's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Peja made 7 blocks. It was a good game for Polish-Kosovan Dardan Berisha (190-88) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Turkish point guard Erdem Ilter (186-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Four Peja players scored in double figures. Peja's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Gerard Davis (193, college: NMHU) answered with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Abrian Edwards (196-95, college: William Penn, agency: One Motive Sports) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kamza. Kamza will play next round against strong Teuta trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Peja will try to continue on its current victory against Tirana on the road. Visitors were defeated by Albanian Teuta (2-1) 78-72. It was a great evening for center Kristi Gorea (200-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 4 assists. American guard Tyler Peterson (193, college: S.Dakota) helped adding 14 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Slovenian-Kosovan Gezim Morina (204-92) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin-Kosovan Mikaile Tmusic (189-93) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Teuta and four Ylli players scored in double figures. Teuta will play against Kamza (#5) in Tirana in the next round. Ylli will play on the road against Rahoveci (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
