Round 7: Tirana defeat Kamza in the closest game of the week

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga Unike took place in Tirana. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Kamza (2-5) to fifth ranked Tirana (4-3) 104-102 on Sunday evening. Tirana dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kamza's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Kamza helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Julian Hamati who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Eldi Hysa (195-99, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Niko Thano (196-91) responded with 29 points and 9 rebounds. Tirana moved-up to third place, which they share with Teuta and Prizreni-16. Kamza lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Rahoveci. Tirana is looking forward to face Rahoveci (#6) on the road in the next round. Kamza will play against Prizreni-16 and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
One of the most interesting games of round 7 was a derby match between two teams from Kosovo. Second ranked Peja outleveled visiting Rahoveci (2-5) 122-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rahoveci. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSUB) who led the winners and scored 44 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Stephen Maxwell accounted for 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Guard Cavon Baker (185-93, college: St.Peter's) came up with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Rahoveci in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Peja have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-2 record behind leader Ylli. Rahoveci at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Kamza. Peja will play against Teuta (#5) in Durres in the next round. Rahoveci will play at home against Tirana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Teuta's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Robert Shestani produced 19 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Defending Albanian champion (4-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Tirana and Prizreni-16. Vllaznia lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Teuta will meet at home league's second-placed Peja in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vllaznia will play against the league's leader Ylli (#1) in Therande and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 7 Prizreni-16 lost to Ylli on the opponent's court 52-69.



Peja - Rahoveci 122-88

One of the most interesting games of round 7 was a derby match between two teams from Kosovo. Second ranked Peja outleveled visiting Rahoveci (2-5) 122-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rahoveci. Peja dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Rahoveci's 50. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSUB) who led the winners and scored 44 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Forward Stephen Maxwell (201-93, college: CSUN) accounted for 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Peja players scored in double figures. Guard Cavon Baker (185-93, college: St.Peter's) came up with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ameer Jackson (193-94, college: WSSU) added 21 points respectively for Rahoveci in the defeat. Teuta made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American forward Tamas Bruce (202-95, college: Arkansas St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import guard Cameron Satterwhite (193, college: Montana) chipped in 20 points. Five Teuta players scored in double figures. Teuta's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Robert Shestani (187-93) produced 19 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American power forward Davante Cooper (208-94, college: WSU) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Rather expected game in Therande where 3rd placed Prizreni-16 (4-3) was defeated by first ranked Ylli (6-1) 69-52 on Sunday. Ylli forced 23 Prizreni-16 turnovers and had a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Croatian forward Henrik Sirko (199-93) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Albanian-Kosovan swingman Erjon Kastrati (197-94) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin point guard Ivan Koljevic (188-84, agency: BIG) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Urim Zenelaj (213-91, agency: Interperformances) added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Ylli have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Kosovan champion maintains first place with 6-1 record. Loser Prizreni-16 keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Tirana and Teuta. Ylli will meet at home bottom-ranked Vllaznia (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
