LBBL top team - Sparta (14-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Kordall S. (5-11) in Bertrange 103-68. Sparta dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kordall S.'s 44. They outrebounded Kordall S. 42-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Kordall S. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Victor Iwuakor (200-1999, college: Southern Miss) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (on 19-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international guard Max Logelin (187-2003) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. American guard Erik Timko (196, college: Delaware) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparta maintains first place with 14-3 record, which they share with Arantia. Newly promoted Kordall S. keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Sparta is looking forward to face Residence (#7) in Bereldange in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. The game in Dudelange was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Amicale (12-5) played at the court of 6th ranked T71 (9-7). Amicale defeated T71 82-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of T71. American guard Malcolm Richardson (185-1994, college: Florida St. Jkv) nailed 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and Ashton Sherrell accounted for 24 points and 7 rebounds. Amicale's coach Daniel Brandao allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jimmie Taylor (193-1994, college: Rider) came up with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for T71 in the defeat. Amicale have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-5 record. T71 at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Amicale will play against league's second-placed Arantia in Larochette in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. T71 will play on the road against Racing (#10) in Luxembourg and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Mamer managed to escape with a 1-point win 95-94 on Saturday evening. Americans were the main players on the court.
