Netherlands survived a thrilling win against Belgium at the European Olympic Pre-Qualifiers. Netherlands improved to a 1-1 record beating the opponents 78-76.
The Dutch team started with a 20-16 run and enjoyed a 17-point halftime advantage. Belgium meanwhile erupted with a massive 27-12 surge to reduce to 2 points, however could not win the game. Charlon Kloof (190-G-1990, college: St.Bonaventure) drove a lay-up at the very end to bring 79-76 win for his side. Charlon Kloof and Jesse Edwards (211-C-2000) top-scored for the winners with 16 points each, whilst Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-F-1997, college: ORU) netted 14. Loic Schwartz (197-G/F-1992) replied with 19 points in a loss, whilst Milan Samardzic (190-G-1999) nailed 17.
