Josep Cera claims Spanish Segunda FEB weekly honour

Josep Cera (187-G-2003) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Melilla Ciudad del Deporte and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Segunda FEB Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 25 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Melilla in his team's victory, helping them to crush Estudiantes B (#14, 1-4) with 17-point margin 92-75. It allowed Melilla to consolidate first place in the Spanish Segunda FEB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Melilla already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. It was one of impressive evenings for Cera as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Josep Cera averages this season 11.4ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Brazilian center Vitor Faverani (212-C-1988) of Odilo FC Cartagena CB. Faverani impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Cartagena lost that game 74-82 to Group B's leader Benicarlo (#2, 4-0). This loss caused Cartagena to drop to 8th position in Group B. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Faverani is well-known by Cartagena fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.2ppg (#2). He also registered 8.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Antonio Burgos (201-PF-2000) of second-ranked Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Burgos scored 21 points and passed 4 assists. He was a key player of Caceres, leading his team to a 90-78 win against the lower-ranked Ponferrada (#5, 3-2). Caceres is closer and closer to top of the standings in Group A. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Burgos has a great season in Spain. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.6ppg (8th best).
