Gran Canaria inks Ruth Sherrill

Ruth Sherrill

Spar Gran Canaria (LF Endesa) agreed terms with 31-year old American power forward Ruth Sherrill (188cm-1994, college: Temple) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. She was the top scorer at Estepona in LF Challenge. Sherrill helped her team get promotion to LF Endesa last season where in 23 LF Challenge games she had 14.2ppg, 8.8rpg, and 1.6apg. Sherrill contributed to her team winning the LF Challenge title despite ending the regular season in second place. In 2024-25, she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF Challenge Finals MVP, named to the All-Defensive Team, and named to the All-Imports Team. The previous (2024) summer, she played at Montaneras (BSNF) in the Puerto Rican league.
She is quite an experienced player. Sherrill has played in six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America, and of course North America). She has played professionally in Denmark (Amager), Germany (ALBA Berlin), Puerto Rico, Romania (Targu Mures), Slovakia (Slavia Banska Bystrica), and Turkey (Rize).
Sherrill graduated from Temple University in 2017 and it will be her ninth season as a pro player. She also played for Hofstra University for 2 years.
