France stepped onto the pedestal in China. They overcame Australia in an intense consolation final battle in Beijing tonight to claim Bronze medals. Nando De Colo (196-G-87) posted 19 points to lead les Bleues. The teams entered the game fighting passionately at both ends. Defense dominated in the first half. Australia held France to just 11 points in the opening quarter to take a 5-point lead. The Boomers stayed aggressive defensively in the second period. Australia limited their opponents to just 21 points in the first half to take a 9-point halftime lead. Joe Ingles (203-SF-87) gave Australia a 38:23 lead early in the third period. But France responded with a 17:4 rally of their own to pull within two points 42:44 late in the period. France denied the deficit early in the fourth quarter as Nando De Colo gave them a 47:46 lead. Andrew Bogut regained the lead for Australia at 52:50 but Andrew Albicy (177-PG-90) immediately responded with a three-pointer to keep France in charge. Andrew Albicy soon hit another trey to give France a 63:56 advantage. Patrick Mills (183-PG-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) pulled the Boomers within 5 points with a three-pointer. But Nando De Colo converted a layup and Nicolas Batum (203-SF-88) added a free throw to make it 67:59 for France with 25 seconds to go and they never surrendered that lead. Evan Fournier (198-SG-92) produced 16 points, while Andrew Albicy and Nicolas Batum produced 9 points each in the victory. Joe Ingles answered with 17 points for Australia. Patrick Mills had 15 points in the loss.

Spain celebrated their second ever World Cup Gold. They beat Argentina in the Final in Beijing tonight to claim the title. Ricky Rubio (193-G-90) provided 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the champions. Spain opened the game on a 14:2 run. But Argentina found their answer in Brussino as he scored 8 consecutive points to keep Argentina close. Spain however finished the quarter on a strong rally to take a 23:14 lead after ten minutes. Spain quickly ballooned the lead to as many as 14 points in the second period. Nicolas Laprovittola (190-PG-90) came up for Argentina to drag the Latin American side back within 8 points. But Spain stayed confident restoring a double-digit lead and finishing the first half up by 12 points 43:31. Spain started to overwhelm Argentina in the third quarter. Ricky Rubio completed three-point play to give Spain a massive 22-point lead 55:33. But Deck and Facundo Campazzo (181-PG-91) drained back-to-back three-pointers to keep Argentina hopeful. Spain did not allow Argentina any closer in the reminder of the period. The European team accumulated a 66:47 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Argentina tried their hardest to cut the deficit. They narrowed the gap to 11 points but it was as close as Spain allowed them to get. The European powerhouse executed to perfection in the final stages of the games and rallied to the triumph. Marc Gasol (216-C-85) accounted for 14 points, while Rudy Fernandez (197-SF-85), Willy Hernangomez (210-C-94) and Juancho Hernagomez added 11 points each for the winners. Gabriel Deck (199-SF-95) answered with 24 points for Argentina. Nicolas Laprovittola delivered 17 points in the defeat.

USA finished their 2019 World Cup campaign on a winning note. They rallied past Poland to clinch the 7th overall position. Donovan Mitchell (190-G-96, college: Louisville) accounted for 16 points and 10 assists to lead the charge. USA got to a quick start. They poured in 28 points in the first period to open a 14-point lead. USA maintained the pressure throughout the second period despite limited rotation. The North American side grabbed a 47:30 halftime advantage. Poland however refused to give up easily. The Europeans picked up the tempo in the third quarter. They sank 25 points to pull within 8 points heading into the fourth stanza. USA however did not allow Poland closer than 7 points throughout the fourth quarter and raced to a comfortable victory at the end. Joe Harris (198-G-91, college: Virginia) provided 14 points, while Khris Middleton (203-F-91, college: Texas A&M) finished with 13 for the winners. Mateusz Ponitka (198-SF-93) answered with 18 points, while Adam Waczynski (199-SF-89) netted 17 points for Poland.

Serbia finished their 2019 World Cup with a win as they outscored Czech Republic 90:81 and clinched the 5th place. Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-G/F-92) proved as on of the best players in the World as he scored 31 points, had 4 rebounds and 3 assists. First quarter was finished on tie notes with 20:20, but in second quarter Czech Republic started playing quicker and they were easily finding answers for Serbian defense, which was in some problems in that period of the game. In third quarter we saw real comeback by Serbia, winning ten minutes period by +16 (28:12) was real turn-around at this game. Nikola Jokic (209-C-95, agency: BeoBasket) had 14 rebounds, 7 assists and he scored 7 points, he was also followed by Nikola Milutinov (212-C-94, agency: Octagon Europe) with 14 points and 7 rebounds. In losing team of Czech Republic Ondrej Balvin (217-C-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points with 10 rebounds for his double-double performance on last game of World Cup for his National Team. Sergio Llull hit two three-pointers to make it 90:82 for Spain midway through the second extra period. Australia could not recover as Spain marched to a thrilling victory at the end.
