Regular Season Round 20: Hitech - KL Dragons 77-107
Date: February 17, 2016
Very significant was Malaysian KL Dragons' (#1, 15-4) victory against 3rd ranked Thailand Hitech (14-6) 107-77. The game without a history. KL Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) who helped to win the game recording 41 points (!!!) and Filipino-American point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 21 assists during the contest. American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Steve Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KL Dragons (15-4) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Hitech at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. KL Dragons are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pilipinas Agilas (#6) in Mindanao in the next round where they are favorite. Hitech will have a break next round.
