Regular Season Round 3: Joondalup Wolves - Cockburn C. 104-101

Wanneroo used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Hamilton Hill 104-101 on Saturday night. Wanneroo forced 19 Cougars turnovers. Cougars were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Filipino guard Sebestian Salinas (190-85) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Naturalized Greek guard Trian Iliadis (190-89, college: ODU) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Wanneroo's coach used entire bench in such tough game. American forward Jalen Billups (198-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Cougars. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Wanneroo will face Giants (#13) in Kalgoorlie in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against Tigers (#6) in Willetton and look forward to get finally their first victory.
