The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Eagles' (6-9) road loss to seventh ranked Lightning (7-7) 74-95 on Friday. Lightning made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Eagles only scored four points from the stripe. American forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Devon Atkinson (185, college: Morehead St.) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. At the losing side American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) scored 14 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Lightning went down to eighth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Eagles dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Lightning will face league's leader Tigers in Willetton in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play on the road against Hawks (#11) in Floreat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
