Regular Season Round 6: 36ers - Hawks 87-96

There was a small surprise in Findon where sixth ranked Illawarra Hawks (4-5) defeated one of their biggest challengers Adelaide 36ers (4-5) 96-87. Illawarra Hawks made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Adelaide 36ers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) contributed with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and international swingman Mitch Creek (195-92) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Adelaide 36ers. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Illawarra Hawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 36ers. Adelaide 36ers lost third consecutive game. Illawarra Hawks' next round opponent will be Cairns Taipans (#6) on the road. Adelaide 36ers will play against Kings and hope to win that game.
