Top rankedWorthersee Piraten (13-3) recorded its third loss in Kufstein on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Towers (12-4) 77-72 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Worthersee Piraten. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Towers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Towers outrebounded Piraten 44-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Aleksander Mlodianovski (200-1998) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Swedish forward Samoro Unger (195-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Towers players scored in double figures. Towers' coach Xavier Mascaro used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International swingman Lukas Simoner (190-1999) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American forward Shawn Ray (196-1980, college: NCCU) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Towers maintains second place with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Piraten, which they share with UDW Alligators. Piraten at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost.
