The most shocking disappointment of round 8 was a home defeat of second-rankedGmunden (5-3) to third ranked Oberwart (6-2) 76-71 in the game for the first place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Gmunden . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Gunners Oberwart looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Robert Allen (206-2000, college: N.Texas, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Quincy Diggs (198-1990, college: Akron) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American guard DeVon Cooper (193-1998, college: GMU) responded with 22 points and the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Oberwart have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Gmunden at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Wels.
