Regular Season Round 8: Bertans - Orissaare 55-51

There was no surprise when 15th ranked EstonianOrissaare (6-9) was defeated by top-ranked Latvian Bertans (0-0) 55-51 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bertans took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Orissaare won third quarter 16-14 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bertans dominated on the defensive end, holding Orissaare to just 6 points in first quarter. The best player for the winners was Adrians Esterlins who scored 16 points. Raivo Boss chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Anri Pere produced 8 points and 12 rebounds and Oskar Metsla added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bertans . Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Bertans went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 8 other teams. Defending Estonian champion Orissaare dropped to the twentieth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Hito.
